The Social media especially the WhatsApp Groups and

While Insisting on the Vulnerability of The school website". The SUG Director of Information, Comr. Ugwu Kenneth , In the circular dated 18th September 2018, has asserted that the request for BVN is for the Production of Identity card for Students which will also serve as a prepaid card, which he termed the Student wallet card by Access bank Plc.
In the Circular, he Further stated that The Access Bank has produced identity Card for students in the year 2015, But BVN was not in Existence then.
They wish to do same Now as a CSR project that will be continual, which was attracted by the Access bank Group managing Director who is an alumnus Of UNN, Mr. Hebert Wigwe.
To the Focal point of this Post, which is pointed out in the Circular Referenced above, which is Access Bank CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Project.
What is CSR?
The business dictionary defines corporate social responsibility as “a company’s sense of responsibility towards the community and environment (both ecological and social) in which it operates…”
This follows without saying that a company should have some form of responsibility towards the community in which it operates.
Since corporate social responsibilities have been left in the hands and consciences of companies, it follows that the company decides what to do as its corporate social responsibilities. In most places around the world, these companies are bound to operate in manners that are responsible because of the pressures they get from responsible politicians who are really concerned about their communities and the environment.
In Nigeria however, our politicians have been more concerned about their own booty than the welfare of their people; this has resulted in great capriciousness on the part of companies who know they could get away with anything as long as they keep the corrupt public officer happy with bribes.
The question on the lips of many Students, That needs urgent answer from the SUG and the Generous Bank which CSR project is to create Student Wallet Card is ,
- What happened to Building of New Hostels as a CSR Project ?
- What happened to Renovation of Hostels in the University Community as a CSR Project ?
- What happened to award of Scholarship to students who are financial Incapable as a CSR project ?
And so many other Projects that will impact the Life of students Who happily in one way or the other contributes to the growth of The bank.
