PRESS STATEMENT 

THE UNTiMELY DEATH OF PRECIOUS JOSHUA: NEGLIGENCE OF DUTY AND EXPOSURE OF FRAUD IN T-SHIP 

NUNS Press Release 

The attention of our leadership has been drawn to the Lackadaisical attitude of the management of University of Abuja towards security and welfare of students on campus, hence we express great dissatisfaction with the management approach. We received with rude shock the untimely pass away of one of our colleagues by name Precious Joshua of 100 level Biological Science Department of the University. who died after the inability of the school Clinic to offer her emergency treatment. The student who was later rushed but gave up to the ghost on arrival at the University Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada. 

It is so sad and highly embarrassing that despite the mandatory National Health Insurance Policy tag Tertiary School Health Insurance Program, TSHIP, Nigerian Institutions and students still suffers poor medical facilities and attention respectively, on this note we call for immediate investigation and reform of T-SHIP operation and implementation by the National Health Insurance SchemeNHlS and voluntary resignation of chief Medical Director of University of Abuja clinic whose negligence of duty has cost us the precious life of our dear colleague. 

We condole with the immediate family of precious. Students‘ Union Government and the entire university of Abuja community on this incident, while praying for her soul to rest in perfect peace and fortitude for her loved ones to bear the great lost. 

The university management is enjoined to see to the poor state of the hostel which is one of the major cause of the epidemics on campus as well beef up security around the institution. 

NUNS mourns the untimely pass away of Precious, rest in peace our dear colleague.

FINAL YEAR STUDENT SHOT DEAD BY GUNMEN AT OKO POLYTECHNIC. (GRAPHIC PHOTOS) A young man was shot dead by gunmen at the permanent site of  Federal Polytechnic Oko campus in Anambra state.
